Good questions
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign uses a series of clear, custom-made aligners, designed from a 3D scan of your teeth and made from comfortable, BPA-free plastic, to gently move your teeth into place. They are virtually invisible and removable.
How do the aligners work day to day?
Each set gently shifts your teeth into position. You wear each set at least 22 hours a day and switch to a new set every 1 to 2 weeks, following your treatment plan. Take them out to eat, brush, and play sports, and keep them in while you sleep.
Am I a candidate?
Invisalign works well for crowding, spacing, and many bite issues. Good candidates have healthy gums and teeth that are free of active cavities or gum disease, plus good day-to-day oral hygiene. The quickest way to find out is the 60-second assessment below, then a quick consult where Dr. Gandhi confirms candidacy in person.
How long does treatment take?
On average, Invisalign takes about 12 to 18 months. Simpler cases that need less movement can be as short as six months, while more complex cases, like significant crowding, can run 24 months or a little longer. We give you a realistic timeline after your 3D scan, before you commit.
How much does Invisalign cost?
Nationally, Invisalign typically runs about $3,000 to $6,000 depending on how much movement your case needs, and it is often similar in price to braces. We give you an exact number after your consult, with no surprises, and offer financing to make it manageable.
Invisalign vs. metal braces?
Aligners are clear, removable to eat and brush, usually mean fewer visits, and are more comfortable with no metal wires. For the right case, they are a great alternative to braces.
Any downsides to know about?
Aligners need consistent wear to work, and trays can stain or raise cavity risk without good home care, especially with sugary drinks. We will set you up to succeed and check in along the way.
